Accor & Ambassador Hotel Group Celebrate 34 years of Partnership in October
Accor and Ambassador Hotel Group will celebrate 34 years of successful partnership in October 2021. The strategic joint venture has helped amplify the positioning of both hospitality groups in South Korea since 1987. Soon after celebrating 30 years of collaboration in 2017, the Accor Ambassador Korea partnership showcased remarkable growth in its portfolio, along with a strong diversity of brands.
In 2017, the opening of Seoul Dragon City marked a milestone with the launch of four Accor brands, ranging from economy, mid-scale to premium, all nestled in one hotel complex. Last year, the lifestyle-branded Mondrian Seoul Itaewon was the first Mondrian property in Asia, diversifying further the brand experiences. This year, the first Fairmont brand in the country was unveiled as a new landmark in Seoul. This September, in partnership with KT Estate, Accor Ambassador Korea opened the Sofitel Ambassador Seoul Hotel & Serviced Residences in Songpa-gu, next to the Lotte World Tower, to share the French art of living with Korean guests.
The company continues to expand destinations in South Korea. In 2019, Ulsan welcomed the first international brand hotel with the opening of Mercure Ambassador Ulsan; this summer, Mercure Ambassador Jeju was launched as the group’s eighth destination and the first resort in Jeju.
Vincent Lelay, Vice President of Operations in South Korea, said, “Despite competitive market conditions and an unprecedented crisis in the tourism sector, Accor Ambassador Korea continues to reinforce its market positioning with a strong network. Currently, we are operating 29 hotels, showcasing a strong pipeline. A passionate team of hoteliers based in Seoul are at the helm of this rapid transformation and development.”
The dedication of Accor Ambassador Korea’s hoteliers have also contributed to the group’s growth, through their sincere passion for the industry and their dedication towards service excellence. They have continued to engage with their teams, while enhancing their skills through continuous learning and development opportunities.
