A leading driver and strong advocate for European Businesses in Korea
[AMF] Hiring AMF Korea Country Director
About AMF (Against Malaria Foundation)
The Against Malaria Foundation (AMF) was founded in 2004 and is a charity that fights malaria in a highly effective, accountable and transparent way. We do this by purchasing and distributing multiple millions of long-lasting insecticide-treated nets (LLINs) at a time in nationwide universal coverage campaigns. This is the most cost effective way of preventing malaria. AMF receives donations from the public and in the last three financial years has received more than US$250 million and has raised more than US$750 million over its 20 year existence. AMF is particularly data-focused and monitors and reports on net use and drives and supports innovation to improve the effectiveness of malaria programmes. AMF has been rated a top charity for all of the last 16 years by independent charity evaluators GiveWell and The Life You Can Save who focus on cost-effectiveness and impact.
We are a team of 14 highly motivated individuals with different skills and experience. Each person has an important role to play. All team members work remotely with constant communication between them. While the team is small, the impact is big – our net distributions protect millions of people. Our largest programme is in the DRC, where we are funding 50 million nets to protect 95 million people for distribution during 2024 to 2026. We have ongoing multi-million net programmes in other countries including Chad, Guinea, Nigeria, South Sudan, Togo, Uganda and Zambia.
Our activities and commitments have grown over time and AMF is now the world’s third largest funder of nets. In the coming years, we expect to buy and distribute between 25 and 50 million nets per year. A commitment to accountability and transparency is at the heart of what AMF does.
AMF Korea (한국 말라리아 예방공동체) is a registered, tax-deductible charity in the Republic of Korea.
About the Role
We’re at the beginning of our journey in Korea and are seeking a dynamic Country Director to grow AMF Korea into a leading force in domestic philanthropy. With a proven global track record, AMF is ready to expand its impact by connecting Korean generosity to life-saving work.
As our local leader and sole Korea-based employee, you’ll drive fundraising, partnerships, and awareness—engaging everyone from students and community leaders to corporate partners and major donors. Your mission: build a diverse, sustainable donor base to power our work.

Drive Awareness & Visibility
Grow AMF’s presence by localising our global story, using media, events, and digital channels in both English and Korean (Note: AMF does not spend on paid marketing—success will come through creativity, partnerships, and authentic engagement)
Manage Stakeholder Engagement
Build credibility by partnering with government bodies, NGOs, and opinion leaders. Represent AMF Korea at events, from student-led initiatives to international development forums.
Manage Operations & Compliance
Oversee local operations, ensure regulatory compliance, work closely with our pro-bono board, and align with our global HQ
Ensure Transparency & Reporting
Uphold AMF’s gold standard of accountability through regular impact reporting and real-time financial transparency

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees (e.g. in Public Health, Nonprofit Management, International Relations, or an MBA) are a plus.
Native-level Korean and professional-level English. Strong communicator with the ability to inspire and mobilise both grassroots and executive audiences.
A purpose-driven leader who thrives in early-stage environments. Self-starter with the tenacity to build something meaningful from the ground up.
