For our office in Seoul we are looking for experienced individuals for following roles:
Investment and Development Manager Renewable Energy (f/m/d)
Identify new project/ investment opportunities for solar PV, wind or other renewable energies in Korea
Negotiate a set of key terms to (co-)develop or acquire greenfield or brownfield project portfolios in close collaboration with our in-house investment-, technical- and legal team
Present development and/or investment opportunities to the management based on holistic consideration of financial models, permitting status and other critical techno-economic success factors
Collaborate with local development partners to successfully manage the development and permitting process from acquisition to ready-to-built stage
Support preparation of information memos and data for presentation to the investment committee incl. risk management strategies
Stay up to date on latest market developments and news, policy changes and identify mid- to long-term business opportunities
Your qualifications
At least 5 years of relevant project/ business development experience in renewable energy projects; preferably with an internationally experienced company
Deep understanding and experience of local interaction with authorities, local communities, and other stakeholders
Experience in project management methodologies is considered an advantage
Financial modelling or relevant technical engineering capability is a plus
Strong 360-degree communication skills both in Korean and English

Disciplinary reporting to the Managing Director of Aquila Development Partners (“ADP”)
Functional reporting to the Regional Director Engineering & Projects in Singapore; part of the team that assumes responsibility for the overall engineering and execution of the company’s standalone and co-located solar PV projects
Support the local development team and take over coordination, when necessary, in permitting/ regulatory processes (e.g., grid connection)
Work closely with our colleagues across the development and investment team in Korea to assess development opportunities and provide input for the investment approval processes
Evaluate project opportunities and conduct technical due diligence in cooperation with our asset management/ engineering colleagues
Conduct site visits and perform shading analysis, initial transport surveys as well as coordinate site specific surveys through contractors
Support at request for proposals including the qualification of contractors and consultants for all areas of construction at solar PV projects
Responsible of the implementation of South Korean Standards into the project design and during construction (Quality Guidelines)
Support Construction Management at the coordination of grid connection works with utilities and contractors
Support Construction Management at the coordination of commissioning activities with authorities and contractors
Liaise with our asset management/ engineering colleagues in the various country organizations to continuously maintain and improve existing company standards and processes
Stay apprised of current and emerging research and trends in the field of solar PV systems incl. applicable codes, standards and certifications
Confidently articulate these evolving trends and developments in the day-to-day interactions within the wider group
Your qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a qualitative discipline (e.g., electrical engineering)
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in solar PV system or power plant engineering and related development disciplines such as grid connection
Experienced in the South Korea grid connection process for large power plants
Familiar with the development process for utility scale solar PV project in South Korea
Attention to detail with the ability to drive production of designs and engineering solutions in a high paced environment
Familiar with latest technology developments in the RE sector and specifically around solar PV in terms of products and system solutions
Hands-on and independent individual who possesses initiative, adaptability and is able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a multi-cultural team
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD as well as industry specific simulation and design tools
Fluent in English and Korean language
Able and willing to travel within the country

Provide legal counsel and support for ADP’s project development of renewable energy projects in South Korea
Provide support to both the business and technical teams involved in the development and execution of renewable energy projects (particularly solar PV and onshore wind)
Advise on corporate governance matters and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
Draft, review and negotiate all commercial contracts including development services agreements, EPC and related construction contracts, consultancy agreements, non-disclosure agreements and other project development documentation
Provide corporate support to Aquila Development Partners including day-to-day operational matters and company secretarial matters
Take responsibility for managing record keeping and internal databases and assist with contract management (organisation of (electronic) filing of contracts, obtaining signatures, etc.)
Assist with the management of ongoing project development activities with local partners and service providers
Effectively work with external counsel when necessary and appropriate, and liaise/cooperate with members of shareholder groups, including in-house counsel of ADP’s shareholders Aquila Capital and TopInfra
Your qualifications
A degree in law from a top-ranked, reputable international university
Qualification to practice law in the Republic of Korea with 8-10+ years post-qualification experience (PQE); additional qualification in a foreign law jurisdiction is an advantage
Training and experience working in an internationally recognised law firm and industry experience in legal practice preferably working as an in-house counsel at a recognised multi-national corporation
Highest standards of professional ethics, integrity and judgment
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with cross-cultural experience
Excellent teamwork skills and ability to partner with business and technical colleagues, external counsel and staff
Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and to engage effectively with all levels of staff and management
Ability to build trust and lead complex and demanding projects
Ability to work independently as well as in a team
Highly organised, detail oriented, efficient, resourceful with strong follow-through and passion to “make things happen”
