BDO Sungto-Ehyun appoints a new Forensic Service Partner Jaejun
On July 29, BDO Sungto-Ehyun LLC (hereinafter, “Sungto-Ehyun”) announced that Jaejun Shin was admitted as a new Partner to lead the Forensic Service team. Forensic service is a field essential for improving transparency of financial reporting and corporate governance, and the demands for this sector has been rapidly rising in areas including accounting fraud investigation since the enactment of the revised ‘Act on External Audit of Stock Companies’.
Jaejun is an expert in forensic services with over 20 years of experience at PwC Korea and PwC Consulting. In particular, he was seconded to PwC NY Forensic Service team from 2007 to 2009, where he could learn the forensic best practice. Since then, he has carried out various investigation including accounting fraud and anti-corruption for domestic and foreign companies. He has also participated as an expert in international arbitrations. In addition, he served as a member of the advising committee of the ‘Guidelines for Accounting Fraud Investigation’ which was released by the Financial Services Commission and Financial Supervisory Service at the end of 2019.
Jaejun stated, “The companies who face crisis might find forensic services costly because there are only a limited number of experts available in current market while the demands for the forensic service is growing very fast,” and added, “ I will lead Sungto-Ehyun’s forensic team to become a competitive player in market.”
“I have great expectations for our new expert with global forensic competence,” said Managing Partner John G.S. Park, adding, “I believe that Jaejun Shin will play a great role for Sungto-Ehyun in spearheading the forensic market with full support from BDO International.”
