COVID-19 Update (April 15, 2022)
Effective April 18, 2022, South Korea is to lift all COVID-19 related social distancing measures. From next Monday, for the first time in over 2 years, all restrictions will be lifted except a mask mandate.
Regarding the mask mandate, over the next two weeks, the government is to closely monitor the situation and decide further measures regarding it then.
Below are the updates (effective April 18)
No curfew will be imposed to restaurants, cafes, karaoke, public bath, etc. (currently allowed to open only until midnight).
No limit on the number of persons in private gatherings (currently no more than 10-persons allowed).
299-person limit on large-scale rallies & events and on religious facilities, which only allowed up to 70% of the capacity will be removed.
Eating inside public facilities, such as movie theaters, indoor gyms, etc. will be allowed.
To prevent the risk of further spread of the virus with the lifting of the regulations, the government requested that people understand the importance of personal hygiene (hand washing, cleaning, disinfecting, etc.) in daily lives for their personal health and safety of the society in general.
