COVID-19 Update (September 23, 2022)
South Korea to lift outdoor face mask mandate
Effective next Monday, September 26, the obligation to wear a mask outdoors will be completely lifted.
Accordingly, it will no longer be required to wear a mask when attending outdoor gatherings of 50 or more people, live performances or sports events. However, the obligation to wear a mask indoors will remain in place for the time being.
Even with the update in the measure, it is strongly recommended for an individual to wear a mask outdoors,
If she/he has symptoms of COVID-19 such as fever, cough, sore throat, etc.
If she/he is in a high-risk group (the elderly, unvaccinated, etc.) or is expected to come in close contact with a high-risk group
When in a choir or a large group of people
