Dentons Lee Strengthens Its Litigation Capabilities with a Series of New Hiring of Former Presiding Judges
Dentons Lee has recently strengthened its capabilities in the area of litigation by hiring a series of lawyers who are former presiding judges.
Heejun Choi is a litigation expert who served as a judge for 20 years at all levels of courts including the Supreme Court, Seoul High Court and Seoul Central District Court where he handled numerous civil, criminal, and public law cases, after graduating from the department of law of Seoul National University and completing the 28th class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court. After retiring from the Seoul Southern District Court as a presiding judge in 2022, Mr. Choi worked as an attorney at Class Hankyul LLC, and has been working at Dentons Lee since May 2024. Mr. Choi is committed to defending the rights and interests of clients in legal difficulties based on his legal knowledge accumulated in various venues such as courts, the Constitutional Court and law firms as well as an in-depth experience in court trials.
Peter Seung-Hun Lee graduated from the department of law of Korea University and completed the 33rd class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court. Mr. Lee began his career as a judge at the Suwon District Court, then served as a judge at the Seoul Administrative Court, Busan District Court and Busan High Court and the Suwon District Court Pyeongtaek Branch. Then as a chief judge at the Daejeon District Court Hongseong Branch and the Cheongju District Court, he handled numerous civil, family, administrative, criminal and writ trials at all levels. He also served as a judge in the taxation, redevelopment and reconstruction, international trade and maritime affairs, intellectual property and labor divisions. And in March 2024, he joined Dentons Lee where he has been actively serving the clients.

Sung-Duck Park graduated from the department of law of Seoul National University and completed the 13th class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court. After serving as a chief prosecutor at the Suwon, Daegu and Seoul District Public Prosecutors’ Offices, he worked as a deputy chief prosecutor of the Busan District Public Prosecutors’ Office, senior prosecutor of the Seoul High Public Prosecutors’ Office and the expert commissioner of the Legislation-Judiciary Committee of the National Assembly. As an attorney specialized in litigation at Dentons Lee, Mr. Park continues to focus his practice on complex litigation and alternatives in dispute resolution in intellectual property, tax, insurance, finance and criminal matters.
Doo-Hyung Lee graduated from the department of law of Korea University and completed the 16th class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court. Mr. Lee served for 13 years at the Korean Intellectual Property Office and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and for 16 years as a judge and presiding judge at various levels of courts, including the Patent Court and the Seoul Central District Court. His practice focuses on litigation, including civil, criminal and administrative cases related to intellectual property.
Myung-Ho Song graduated from the department of business administration of Seoul National University and completed the 29th class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court. Mr. Song has served as a judge in various district courts. He is an experienced litigator and focuses his practice on civil and administrative litigation, including litigation regarding urban development, real estate development, land expropriation, land compensation, and factory permit and approval.
Joo-Hyung Lee graduated from the department of law of Korea University and completed the 30th class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court. Mr. Lee began his career as a prosecutor of the Financial Investigation Division at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office and served as a prosecutor of the Public Security Planning Division at the Ministry of Justice, administrative officer of the Presidential Secretariat, prosecutor research officer of the Supreme Public Prosecutors’ Office (Central Investigation Department, Public Security Department), deputy chief prosecutor of the Special Division No. 1 at the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office, vice team head of the Special Investigation Division for Corruption Crimes at the Supreme Public Prosecutor’s Office and chief prosecutor of the Criminal Division at the Incheon District Prosecutor’s Office. Based on his 18 years of prosecutorial experience, he mainly deals with various criminal cases, including financial, tax, corporate accounting and labor and management issues.
