A leading driver and strong advocate for European Businesses in Korea
ECCK Activity Report and Outlook Sep. 2013
Dear Valued Business Representatives,
The ECCK currently operates seven committees, namely Automotive, Cosmetics, Finance, Legal Affairs, Marine & Shipbuilding and as latest additions Real Estate and Healthcare.
Furthermore, we are now in the progress of launching committees on Chemicals, Food & Beverages and Logistics. In other words, the ECCK is expanding its coverage of specific industry areas step-by-step.
In recent months, we have been working successfully on various trade issues – either in cooperation with the EU Delegation or independently. Nevertheless, we are facing substantial hurdles. The ECCK knows the positions and opinions of its member companies- even if industry specific committees are not available for all members. However, it is becoming extremely difficult for us to receive statements and requests from non-member companies on specific topics and trade issues.
It is needless to say that the ECCK’s main mission is to represent the interests of its members; nevertheless, we have also been approached by non-members frequently on trade issues.
This was rather burdensome for us as an established relationship was missing.
I hereby would like to ask all of you again to consider joining the ECCK as a member so that we can be better prepared to take action on your behalf on any potential trade issue that may occur in the future.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the ECCK staff or myself directly. With regard to questions about membership, please contact Herena Oh via e-mail at member@ecck.or.kr or 02-6261-2700.
I convey my best regards and look forward to your positive consideration and reply.
