ECCK and KGS signed a contract for cooperation
The ECCK and the Korean GNSS Society (KGS) signed a contract for cooperation on November 3, 2014. The KGS was represented by Dr Choi Wan-Sik, president of KGS, and Dr Jeong Gu-Min, Location Based Services professional.
Under the contact, the ECCK will begin taking part in the GNSS.asia project from January 1, 2015, to promote GNSS downstream sector and to raise awareness of the system in Korea. The project is financed by the Horizon 2020 framework – the largest EU research and innovation program with nearly EUR 80 billion funding availability over next seven years. In the ECCK, Tomasz Wierzbowski will be assigned to lead this project.
The GNSS.asia project aims to develop and implement GNSS industrial cooperation activities between the EU and Korea, focusing on applications and receivers. Korea has promising potential for GNSS with its mature smartphone and automotive markets.
GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) is a satellite system used to pinpoint the geographic location of a user’s receiver anywhere in the world.
