ECCK Breakfast Meeting with Minister of Employment and Labor, Lee Jung Sik
On November 29, 2023, the ECCK held a breakfast meeting with Minister Lee Jung-sik, Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL), at Grand Hyatt Seoul, with representatives from ECCK members in attendance. The meeting provided an opportunity for ECCK members to discuss labor-related issues, make suggestions, or pose questions to the MOEL. Minister Lee shared insights into the current situation in the labor market and emphasized the necessity of tripartite conversation for a better labor environment.
ECCK Chairperson Philippe Van Hoof expressed appreciation to the MOEL for Minister Lee’s consistent participation over the last year, highlighting his commitment to introducing flexibility in applying the 52-hour work week, reorganizing the salary system to a performance-based wage, and creating more and safer jobs in Korea.
