ECCK Busan Breakfast Meeting with Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City, Heongjoon Park
On Friday, April 25, the European Chamber of Commerce in Korea (ECCK) Busan hosted a Breakfast meeting with the Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City, Heongjoon Park, at Peony, The Westin Josun Busan.
The meeting was organized to discuss ways to improve the investment environment in Busan, to listen to the City’s strategic plans for establishing Busan as a global hub city, and to gather in-depth feedback on the views and needs of the companies.
The event gathered about 30 distinguished guests, including Philippe Van Hoof, Chairperson of the ECCK, and Bjørn Inge Braathen, Director of the ECCK. The discussion also featured a Q&A session moderated by Andrew Millard, ECCK Busan Chapter Representative, focusing on Busan’s strategies to become a leading global city, measures related to the construction of the new Gadeokdo Airport, and customized support policies for foreign companies operating in the region.
Busan Metropolitan City expressed its hope that this meeting would serve as a significant opportunity to build new avenues of cooperation based on mutual trust between European companies and the municipal government.
Mayor Park Heong-joon stated, “The technological strength and expertise of European companies inject great vitality into the regional economy and are key drivers in advancing Busan as an international business hub. The City of Busan will continue to foster an environment where more European companies can invest and grow together with us. I kindly ask the ECCK to actively promote Busan as a gateway for European companies expanding into Asia.”
