ECCK Courtesy Visit to FKI Executive Vice Chairman Kim Chang Beom
On April 9, ECCK Chairperson Philippe van Hoof, President Stefan Ernst, and Vice President Bo Sun Kim paid a courtesy visit to Kim Chang Beom, Executive Vice Chairman of the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI).
They exchanged views on energy security related to the current geopolitical situation in the Middle East and other surrounding regions. They also agreed to communicate frequently and cooperate on any matters requiring collaboration, including Summit-level Talks between the EU and Korea, as well as exchanges between European Commission Trade Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič and Korea’s Trade Minister Yeo Han-Koo. Furthermore, they discussed the Korea Green Transformation (KGX) program currently being pursued by FKI in collaboration with Seoul National University (SNU), and the EU-Korea Green Partnership Programme (GPP) being planned by ECCK with the European Commission.
In particular, FKI confirmed its willingness to collaborate as a partner in the GPP planned by ECCK. Moving forward, both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in the areas of the business environment for foreign-invested companies in Korea and Korea-Europe cooperation, particularly in relation to Europe’s integrative policy approach.
