ECCK Delegation to Europe Successfully Concluded
In September, ECCK White Paper 2022 was published and ECCK has been holding meetings with the Korean authorities to brief some of the industry-related issues and recommendations included in this year’s White Paper followed by the Press Conference, where ECCK shared the key messages with the public and ECCK members. To further this effort, this time the ECCK flied to Europe from October 10 to October 14 to brief the European stakeholders about the business environment in Korea. The ECCK’s delegation to Europe consisted of Chairperson Dirk Lukat, Trustee of the Board Johan Vandromme, President Christoph Heider as well as Committee Heads from the ECCK Secretariat.
First, on October 10, the delegation went to Geneva to meet up with representatives from the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the United Nations Conference of Trade and Development (UNCTAD) before having an intensive work meeting with Henri Gétaz, Secretary-General of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA).

Then, from October 11 to 13, the ECCK delegation traveled to Brussels and primarily had meetings with the European Commission including with Michael Hager, Head of Cabinet of Executive Vice President and Commissioner for Trade Valdis Dombrovskis but also with business interest groups.

Last but not least, on October 14, in London, the delegation met with the Department of International Trade to exchange views about the amendment of the UK-KOR Free Trade Agreement.
