On May 28, ECCK hosted a Breakfast Meeting with Korea Customs Service (KCS) Commissioner Ko Kwanghyo, an expert with extensive experience in finance and policy coordination. During the meeting, KCS shared updates on their current initiatives in ‘regulatory innovation,’ aimed at overhauling unnecessary regulations, and ‘digital innovation’ in customs administration, incorporating new technologies such as business automation and AI in line with the EU-Korea Digital Trade Agreement.
Additionally, KCS has established a green customs strategy to address global environmental changes. This strategy aims to lay the foundation for a circular economy, enabling the environmentally friendly export and import of waste resources.
