ECCK HR Forum on 2019 Korean Labor Market Trends
On February 28, the ECCK organized its annual HR seminar on Trends and Expectations for the Korean Labor Market.
During the seminar, which was organized for the fifth year, Duncan Harrison, Country Manager of Robert Walters Korea, shared his observations into hiring trends across various industries. In addition to the firm’s experiences, these insights follow the Robert Walters Global Salary Survey, which contains a specific chapter for Korea.
An insight into the regulatory developments was provided by Bae, Kim & Lee’s Anthony Chang and Jeong Han Lee. A particular focus was placed on recent changes to labor related regulations in 2019 (including minimum wage increase, harassment in the workplace and Affirmative Action obligations), implementation of reduced working hours as well as the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s plans for 2019.
The seminar was concluded with an engaging Q&A session.
