ECCK Meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, EU Ambassador to Korea Maria Castillo-Fernandez, ECCK Chairperson and President with representatives from ECCK members Airbus, Air Liquide, ASML, Copenhagen Offshore Partners, Ericsson-LG, and Porsche.
On May 22, the ECCK welcomed European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to a luncheon meeting prior to her meeting with the Korean leadership at the EU-Republic of Korea summit which happened later that afternoon. ECCK Chairperson Dirk Lukat and President Christoph Heider were joined by EU Ambassador to Korea Maria Castillo-Fernandez, and representatives from ECCK members: Airbus, Air Liquide, ASML, Copenhagen Offshore Partners, Ericsson-LG, and Porsche.
President Ursula von der Leyen’s visit to Korea is especially meaningful in line with the fact that this year marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the European Union and the Republic of Korea, enabling the two parties an opportunity to further strengthen ties and cooperation.
During the meeting, participating parties discussed about intense and excellent ties between the European Union and Korea, the successful EU-Korea Free Trade Agreement and the constant needed focus on the green transition.
