ECCK Meeting with European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders
On April 11, the ECCK had a luncheon meeting with European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders at the Fairmont Ambassador Hotel. With H.E. Maria Castillo Fernandez, Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Korea, also participating, the ECCK delegation was led by Younhee Kim, ECCK Vice Chairperson & Managing Director of Galderma Korea.
ECCK President Christoph Heider, together with Peter Ruttmann, Head of Legal of BMW Group Korea, Philippe Van Hoof, Country Manager of ING Bank Korea, James Hooper, Principal Sustainability Consultant of Mott MacDonald, Ben Verhaert, CEO and President of OB AbInbev as well as Oscar Arnflo, IT-Security Expert & Branch President of Security Office also participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, participating parties had constructive discussions on various topics, such as Consumer Protection, Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence and General Data Protection Regulation / PIPA.
“The ECCK represents European business operating in and with Korea. Duty of care for workers & environment, due diligence, and sustainability are growing dimensions of any business operation, and Korea is certainly no exception. We are very much interested in hearing about the broad area of responsibility at the European Commission and to exchange views and opinions on related fields.” stated Vice Chairperson Younhee Kim.
