A leading driver and strong advocate for European Businesses in Korea
ECCK Breakfast Meeting with NTS Commissioner for Good Business Environment in Korea
On March 23, the ECCK held a breakfast meeting with the National Tax Service (NTS) Commissioner Kim Chang-Ki, attended by representatives from the European companies. The National Tax Service Commissioner Kim Chang-Ki presented tax reform initiatives and emphasized that he would listen to foreign companies’ audit and other tax-related challenges and continue constructive dialogue with them.
The ECCK acknowledges efforts of the National Tax Service to improve various tax systems in accordance with international standards. In particular, by activating ‘the Mutual Agreement Procedures (MAP)’ and promptly resolving double taxation issues with ‘the Advance Pricing Agreement (APA)’ system, the NTS contributes to a business-friendly environment.
ECCK Chairperson Dirk Lukat said, “We are delighted to hear that the NTS works on the tax reform initiatives to ensure that businesses can focus on their business in a stable environment of taxation. The Chamber will continue to collaborate with the Korean authorities to create a better business environment for the European community.”
The ECCK would like to extend our gratitude to the National Tax Service and Commissioner Kim Chang-Ki for the informative session. We will strive to continue this cooperation and fruitful relationship with the National Tax Service and contribute to the betterment of the business environment of Korea.
