ECCK President attended 2023 Ulsan International Hydrogen Energy Forum
On 20 December, 2023, ECCK President Stefan Ernst attended the 3rd Ulsan International Hydrogen Energy Forum and gave a congratulatory speech highlighting the importance of hydrogen energy in the transition towards clean energy.
The forum was hosted by Ulsan Metropolitan City and the Korea Hydrogen Industry Association and was supported by various companies and government institutions. Following the opening by Ulsan Mayor Kim Doo Gyeom, experts from the hydrogen industry were invited to give informative presentations on the advances in hydrogen energy production, national and regional hydrogen policies in the Netherlands, Canada, Australia and Korea, and investment strategies.
Boosting the presence of the ECCK, Board member Erik Roelans also attended and gave a presentation on EU Green Hydrogen Projects Produced by Offshore Wind in the North Sea, whilst Busan Chapter Representative Andrew Millard also attended the forum. The forum was an excellent opportuntiy to further enhance the ECCKs presence in Ulsan, where not only hydrogen energy, but also offshore wind power are becoming increasingly important for Korea’s transition to clean energy.
With the signing of the EU-Korea Green Partnership in May, 2023, the energy industry looks set to go through major and rapid changes in Korea. The ECCK stands ready and committed to supporting Korea’s transition to clean energy production.
