ECCK Roundtable Meeting with Trade Minister Yeo Han-Koo
On 27 November, the ECCK held a Roundtable Meeting with Trade Minister Yeo Han-koo at the Lotte Hotel. The discussion was joined by ECCK Chairperson Philippe van Hoof, President Stefan Ernst, Vice President Bo Sun Kim, Merck’s Christoph Hamann (Healthcare Committee), Moët Hennessy’s James Paton (Beer, Wine & Spirits Committee), Mercedes-Benz Korea’s Andrew Hongjoong Kim (Automotive Committee), CIP’s Hyun S. Lee (Energy & Environment Committee) and L’Oréal’s Ju Young Park (Cosmetics Committee).
During the meeting, the ECCK raised key issues essential for enhancing the investment environment in Korea, including regulatory improvement, streamlined customs procedures and the recognition of International standards. Minister Yeo underscored the importance of economic cooperation between Korea and Europe, noting that the Korea–EU FTA institutional framework would be actively utilised to review relevant regulations and procedures. In closing, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining open and constructive dialogue going forward.
