ECCK Tourism Committee Meeting with Seoul Metropolitan Government Metaverse Team
On the 3rd of July, 2023, Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Digital Policy Division hosted a meeting for the ECCK and global heads of Lufthansa to discuss the development of digital transformation projects in Seoul. During the meeting, Hea Ok Lee (Team Leader, Digital Policy Division) introduced Metaverse Seoul – an innovative metaverse platform launched in January 2023. The project has been developed to help both residents and tourists with a wide range of matters such as learning more about famous tourist attractions in Seoul, downloading administrative documents such as resident registration certificates, holding meetings, getting advice on how to start a business, and more.
Following this, Leandro Tonidandel (Head of Lufthansa Korea and Chairperson of the ECCK Tourism Committee) together with three visiting representatives (Head of Global Distribution Johannes Walter, Head of Global Digital Sales Steffen Klotz, and Tabea Hasler from Partnership and Distribution Steering) took part in an informative Q&A session to learn more about the project and explore the opportunities the platform could offer to boost tourism.
Digital transformation is vital for both the future of smart cities and the airline industry and so the ECCK would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Seoul Metropolitan City for hosting this session.
