A leading driver and strong advocate for European Businesses in Korea
ECCK’s 2021 White Paper Progress Update, 75% Response from the Government
One of major ECCK activities is to publish the ECCK white paper since 2015, which contains recommendations of European companies regarding the Korean business environment. In 2021 only, the chamber shared 114 recommendations and regulatory issues across 16 industries, including automotive, beer, wine & spirits (BWS), chemical, intellectual property rights, food, healthcare, etc.
Throughout the year, a series of meetings and discussion sessions has taken place with the Korean government to address the regulatory and structural challenges still remaining in the Korean market. Total 114 issues were addressed in 2021 to the relevant ministries and as a result of our effort, the Korean government responded to the 86 issues (about 75%) until January 19, 2022.
The ECCK is committed to the improvement of business environment in Korea and will continue to follow-up the pending cases through constructive and collaborative relationship with the Korean government.
