Eurogroup President Jeroen Dijsselbloem’s Visit
The ECCK had pleasure to invite President of the Eurogroup, Jeroen Dijsselbloem on January 15, 2015. The Eurogroup is a forum of the Eurozone finance ministers, where member states coordinate the economic policies and promote financial stability of the Euro area. President Dijsselbloem is also the Finance Minister of the Netherlands and the Chairman of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM), which was established to assist the Eurozone countries threatened by financial difficulties.
In his speech, Mr Dijsselbloem stressed that Eurozone countries and their banks have become stronger as they went through intense structural reform. When asked about the possibility of “Grexit”, he was optimistic by saying that the possibility of Greece’s exit from the Eurozone is not an issue. The Q&A session was moderated by Simon Mundy, the Financial Times correspondent.
More than 40 foreign dignitaries, business executives, and reporters attended the event, followed by a networking reception.
The event was sponsored by Seoul Square and Heineken Korea.
