“Grow Together” Community Service Group (KOTRA & ECCK) and Foreign Companies Step Up to Protect and Preserve Gyeongbokgung Palace
On October 5, the Grow Together community service group jointly organised by the Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and the European Chamber of Commerce (ECCK), and foreign-invested companies gathered together to clean up and beautify the Gyeongbokgung Palace in an effort to protect and preserve cultural assets in Korea.
In addition to the 50 college students of the Grow Together community service group, staff members of KOTRA and ECCK as well as volunteers from the foreign-invested companies such as Allianz, ING and etc. participated in the half-day volunteering activity at the palace. The volunteering activities involved picking up litter and maintaining clear pathways within the palace.
“As I volunteered with KOTRA, ECCK, and foreign-invested companies for this cultural preservation event, I had the opportunity to ponder upon the social responsibilities of foreign-invested companies and to acknowledge the companies’ positive contributions towards the business environment in Korea,” said one student of the Grow Together community service group.
A staff member of KOTRA added, “There are further intentions to arrange enduring community service projects for organisations, companies, students, and communities to grow together.”
