IKEA Giheung to Open December 12, Bringing Fun Home Furnishings Closer to the Many!
Home furnishing retail company IKEA Korea announced that IKEA Giheung is opening its doors on December 12 as the IKEA third store in Korea, following IKEA Gwangmyeong and Goyang.
As the first IKEA Korea store to open in today’s multichannel environment, IKEA Giheung will offer its customers a more convenient, seamless shopping experience across offline and online. The new store features many digital solutions and co-creation areas throughout the shopping journey where customers can enjoy IKEA home furnishing ideas in a new, fun way.
Based on the findings of hundreds of home visits and research conducted before the store opening, IKEA Giheung will offer locally-relevant home furnishing solutions to address the needs and dreams of the many people. Through the home visits, IKEA Giheung found many residents in the nearby area who are young parents with small children experiencing challenges with storing and finding their belongings. Based on these findings, IKEA Giheung is focusing on offering inspiring, efficient storage and organisation solutions for every need and part of the home. There will also be Home Furnishing Coaches with great home furnishing expertise at IKEA Giheung who will offer easy-to-do, smart home furnishing ideas and tips to customers and enable them to start finding personalised solutions that meet their needs.
IKEA Giheung recruited nearly 500 talented co-workers with an average age of 38, all sharing a strong passion for home furnishing who will grow together with the new store. 65% are female, and 62% are residents from the local community. As a humanistic company, IKEA sees every co-worker as a talent and provides same benefits and opportunities for both personal and professional growth.
“I am very excited to open IKEA Giheung on December 12 and offer better accessibility to the many people in the southern Seoul metropolitan area,” said IKEA Giheung Market Manager Anje Heim. “We look forward to creating a fun, happy everyday life at home with a convenient shopping experience at IKEA Giheung, featuring nearly 10,000 exclusively-designed IKEA home furnishing products,” she added.
