Main Changes on Condition for Quarantine Exemption

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) has shared the main changes on Condition for Quarantine Exemption.

• Establishment of validity period of isolation exemption certificate: The isolation exemption certificate is valid until the first week of entering Korea. After one week, one must apply again according to the application procedure.
• Establishment of the period of quarantine exemption: Limit to the period of achieving the purpose of visit in Korea, within 7 days for the humanitarian purpose and maximum 14 days for other purposes. After achieving the purpose of visit, one must depart immediately or facility quarantine until the remaining days of departure.
• Increase the number of application forms: Statement of Purpose, Detailed Plans for Quarantine Measures and Memorandum of Performance, etc. have been included (change of the forms, etc.). The application forms dedicated to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) including isolation exemption certificate, statement of purpose, etc. must be submitted to the respective ministry. The forms dedicated to embassy (consul general) can be submitted later in person.
• Effective from September 7, 2020
