A leading driver and strong advocate for European Businesses in Korea
Roundtable with Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Korea
On September 24, ECCK Vice Chairperson Moon Goyoung attended the Roundtable with Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Korea which was presided by MOTIE Minister Kim Jung-kwan. In his speech, Vice Chairperson Goyoung indicated three priority areas: renewable energy, especially the development of locally integrated offshore wind power and the improvement of the power grid; digital transformation and the adoption of artificial intelligence technologies; and the expansion of financial investment through foreign direct investment. Also, he emphasized that ECCK remains committed to constructive dialogue with the Korean government to ensure our members can operate in a stable and predictable business environment. In connection with the amendment of the Trade Union Act (so called Yellow Envelope Act), he expressed hope that concrete and practical guidelines that provide European-invested companies with a stable operational foundation would be established in a timely manner. Minister Kim promised to hold an explanation session on the guidelines before the Act came to be effect in March 2025.
