Sanofi Appoints the first Korean Leader to Head Local Operations
August 26, 2013, Seoul ÛÒ Sanofi, a global leading healthcare company, announced that Kyung-Eun Bae has been appointed as Representative Director and General Manager of Sanofi-aventis Korea, a local affiliate of global Sanofi Group, effective September 1. As the first Korean General Manager and female leader to head the local operation, Bae will also chair Sanofi Integrated Management Committee, which comprises of General Managers and executives representing four affiliates of Sanofi Group in Korea.
Bae has served as General Manager of Genzyme Korea, a rare diseases business arm of Sanofi Group since 2010 until most recently, leading KoreaÛªs growth as the second largest Asia Pacific market for the company, while optimizing business models for rare disease and ensuring patient access.
Also she had led the corporate strategies and external affairs function for Sanofi Group in Korea, leading new business development, portfolio management and public affairs committee.

Bae is a graduate of the Pharmacology School of Seoul NatÛªl University. She joined Novartis Korea in 1994 where she took various positions including head of oncology, dermatology, endocrinology, and respiratory diseases business divisions. In addition, she built her capabilities as a global business leader, working as Global Product Director in Oncology Business Division at the head office of Novartis in U.S.
Meanwhile, Jean-Marie Arnaud who has led Sanofi-aventis Korea since August 2010 will serve as the head of Sanofi Pharmaceutical Business in South East Asia and Indochina.
During his tenure, Sanofi has established stronger footholds through successful transformation of its businesses and organizations with four affiliates of Sanofi Group in Korea.
