South Korea to Lift Indoor Mask Mandate Effective Jan 30
The Korean authority stated on Friday, January 20, that the indoor mask mandate will be lifted from Monday, January 30 with some conditions applied.
Even with this update, it would still be required to wear a mask at medical institutions, pharmacies, facilities vulnerable to infection, and public transportation.
Additionally, individuals at high risk of getting seriously ill from COVID-19, for example, those with related health conditions, elderly, etc. are advised to wear a mask at any time. With this change, the importance of getting boost vaccine is emphasized to prevent the potential risk especially for the individuals at high risk.
