South Korea to Lift Mask Mandate for Public Transportation Effective March 20
The Korean authority announced this morning that the mask mandate for public transportation and pharmacies located in supermarkets and train stations is to be lifted from next Monday, March 20.
Since January this year, the indoor mask mandate was lifted with exceptions to certain conditions, such as requirements to wear a mask when on public transportation and facilities vulnerable to infection. The announcement made this morning will be lifting one of the last COVID-19 measures remaining in the country.
However, even with this update, it would still be required to wear a mask at medical facilities, pharmacies, and facilities vulnerable to infection.
