A leading driver and strong advocate for European Businesses in Korea
Strong interest towards EU’s decarbonization progress in Korea
During the first half of 2024, EU Climate Dialogues organised a set of three dialogue sessions in Seoul, South-Korea. The sessions gained very strong interest from policy representatives of both Korea and the EU, as well as corporate side. The three sessions all revolved around different clean technologies contributing to decarbonization efforts, with a specific focus on challenges with Smart Grids, Green Hydrogen and Clean Mobility. The dialogue sessions draw together close to hundred experts on the topics for a total of fifteen hours of interesting dialogue. The program reached out to over 500 specialists in related organisations, companies, academia, and the EU member states trade promotion organisations.
Each dialogue session was structured to facilitate dialogue between the EU and Korean side. Both sides had an equal number of presentations of policy overview and corporate cases. Following the presentations, a panel discussion took place, which activated most of the participants in very engaging discussions. The discussions continued until evening, over a networking dinner which wrapped up each dialogue session.
The feedback from the participants has been overwhelmingly positive, indicating a demand for similar programs in the future. Participants have expressed high satisfaction of having the opportunity to learn about the EU policy, EU member state status and company solutions through the low barrier dialogue the organisers were able to create.
The program was fully funded by the EU as part of the EU Climate Dialogues program. The European Chamber of Commerce in Korea and Asian Insiders organized the events, which were hosted by the EU Delegation in Seoul.
