The Period of Stay for Foreigners to be Granted Only Within the Validity of the Passport
The Ministry of Justice has announced the change of the procedure for the period of stay for foreigners from July 1, 2021 that a visa will be granted only within the validity of the applicants’ passport. Thus, renewal of your passport prior to the visa application is recommended if your passport is to expire this year and are required to re-apply for your resident visa.
Following visa holders are exempted: Permanent Resident (F-5), Recognized Refugee (F-2-4), Humanitarian Status (G-1-6)
In case of passport renewal, you are required to report to the immigration office of jurisdiction within 15 days, in accordance with the Immigration Act.
