A leading driver and strong advocate for European Businesses in Korea
[UN WOMEN] Invitation from UN Women Knowledge & Partnerships Centre UN Women Private Sector Forum
Rapid population aging across Korea and other Asian countries has made care one of the most urgent social and economic priorities. Meanwhile, the “double caregiving” burden—caring for both children and elderly family members—continues to hinder progress toward gender equality.
This shifting landscape is driving a growing demand for innovative care services—not only for care recipients but also for caregivers themselves. This demand opens up significant market opportunities and highlights the need for new solutions. However, challenges remain. Low profitability in senior care discourages private sector participation, while government support and existing business models are insufficient. Without effective strategies, some experts caution that care systems could face severe strain in the near future.
Despite these difficulties, the care sector holds untapped potential. UN Women sees this as an opportunity to address key challenges and build partnerships that foster innovation and investment. By focusing on the intersection of social impact and business opportunity, this forum aims to inspire solutions and showcase impactful examples of progress in senior care.
The forum will focus on senior care as a primary theme, exploring how social value and business opportunities intersect through practical examples:
Session 1: Leaders from construction, finance, investment, research, and other sectors in Korea will share fresh perspectives on how care can be reinterpreted as a new business opportunity.
Session 2: International speakers from Japan, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Malaysia will present strategies and success stories of foreign companies capturing care market opportunities and building new industry ecosystems.
Join the forum to gain insights that can shape future markets and grow your business within a powerful network. Care is our collective future, a key driver for gender equality, and a promising economic frontier.
