On October 16, the ECCK hosted and organized the 6th Korea-EU Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Conference at the Four Seasons Hotel. This year’s conference was co-hosted by the European Patent Office (EPO), the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and Korean Intellectual Property Office. Also, it was supported by Bae, Kim & Lee LLC., Hoffmann Eitle and Sonoda & Kobayashi.
The morning session focused on the theme of ‘Industry 4.0 and IP’, featuring presentations from several industry experts including Dr. Frank van Bouwelen (Partner at Hoffmann Eitle), Mr. Junho Yun (Deputy Director at the Intellectual Property Policy) and Mr. Günther Marten (IP Attaché in Beijing for the EUIPO).
In the afternoon, the conference revolved around two break-out sessions (“Patents in an Era of Increased Interconnectivity” and “Key Aspects to Successfully Combatting Counterfeiting”) during which specialists from both the public and the private sectors presented on pertinent developments in the field of IPR in Korea and Europe.
Over 200 people participated in the annual Korea-EU IPR Conference, and we’d like to thank all of the speakers and attendees for their interest and support.
