ECCK Hosts Europe Week
In commemoration of “Europe Day”, the ECCK will be hosting 2016 Europe Week events to promote European culture, food, and cooperation with Korea.
“Europe Day” is annually held on May 9 to celebrate peace and unity in Europe. The date marks the anniversary of the “Schuman declaration”, which broke the ground for a European Coal and Steel Community that has eventually become the European Union today.
The 2016 Europe Week will showcase notable cultural and business events in partnership with Korean and European organizations and major hotels in Seoul and Busan.
On May 11, the ECCK will organize the Korea-EU FTA symposium titled “the 5th Anniversary of Korea-EU FTA: Achievements and Challenges” together with Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) and KU-KIEP-SBS EU Centre. (14:00-17:00, at 3F, FKI building)
On May 12, All European Network Night will be hosted by the ECCK and 11 other European chambers at Millennium Hilton Hotel.
On May 14, the ECCK’s Busan Chapter will host a family picnic-style event, “Taste of Europe”, with a variety of European dishes and drinks at Dalmaji Eoul Madang in Busan.
In addition, the ECCK has collaborated with major hotels to introduce European cuisine to Korea during the week. Participating hotels will prepare authentic European dishes for promotion.
